THIS IS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE
Due to the inordinate attention paid to this post, I'll have to spell it out for those who don't realize from the silly picture, ridiculous quote, and date that this is, in fact, an April Fools Joke. Do you know what that means? It's fake--a JOKE!
According to Entertainment Weekly reporter Michael Ausiello, NCIS was renewed for two additional seasons. The news, however, comes with the caveat that the ninth will be the final season.
Says CBS executive Nina Tassler, "I know the loyal fans of the show will be disappointed and possibly disturbed that this amazing drama will be ending. We at CBS feel the right time for a show to go out should be when it's at the top. That's why we let JAG have ten seasons. In the absence of NCIS, we would highly recommend NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds: Los Angeles, CSI: Miami, Miami Medical, Miami Basketball, and our newest series, Friends from Miami and Los Angeles. These shows are all of similar caliber and deserve the undivided attention of NCIS fans."
Personally, I would watch the show as long as the core cast stays intact, so I'll be disappointed to see to go. I'll check out the shows Nina Tassler recommended, and hopefully one will fill my NCIS niche.
