"Glitter" is like an episode with a split personality. There's the Robin Sparkles math-porno stuff which is just silly for the sake of silly, and then there's the real lesson about friendship. Somehow, it comes together nicely in the end.
Lily learns the harsh truth that it's not Robin who pushes away from people when they get kids; it's the mother who doesn't have time for friends. For the time being, Lily isn't pregnant and realizes she should be spending time with Robin.
Punchy, after turning out to be getting Ted out of his "depression" and not being obnoxious, wants Ted to be his best man. So much for the Barney-Robin wedding theory, unless there are two big weddings in which Ted is the best man and this is another of many decoys. Still, it doesn't rule Barney and Robin getting back together, so we'll see where things go.
As for the Robin Sparkles and Jessica Glitter romp in space, it was funny, nonsensical, and somehow fitting with Robin's crazy past persona. In a way, it's a perverted version of Sesame Street, a show which throws the occasional bone to adults, but never highly sexual overtones.
