After a spate of episodes involving jealously and/or Hannah, it was nice to see Bones settle in its regular, comfortable position. As a stated in a review earlier this season, Bones is a fantastic show when not tangled up in stupid personal stuff. The acting is great, the cast has amazing chemistry, and the cases are generally good.
Luckily, "The Shallow in the Deep" is Bones-standard and while it may be an anomaly in a season filled with the love triangle of sorts, it means we should especially appreciate episodes like "Shallow." There's a body, fairly obvious criminal, different culture in the form of cougars, some Sweets-Daisy interaction, and a small slave subplot involving Cam and Angela. It all wraps up nicely without any loose strings.
Gotta love that Windows 7 Phone product placement. Microsoft has deep pockets and they're littering it everywhere on television.
