If the last episode, "No Ordinary Quake," is considered a step forward, with everyone finally coming clean, "No Ordinary Visitors" is two steps back. It went back to that agonizing format where the characters have to hide their powers from family members, this time Stephanie's parents. It might have been better with her parents were somewhat likable, but they're pests right from the start, intruding into their lives and being rude to Jim.
The crime-solving element was shoved off to the side to make room for the parents. This time Jim saves Daphne's friend (soon to be boyfriend?) from robbers who went back to kill him. Again, Jim has a sketch without verification, drawing suspicion but no serious inquiry.
Daphne's powers have expanded to included the ability to see other's memories from touch. Maybe her powers will become as broken as JJ's. Certainly Daphne has touched others without it happening, so it seems like her powers are still growing. Does this mean the rest of the family could gain another facet to their powers? Alas, no one cares.
Given the sagging ratings, I'm guessing there are a fair amount of people who aren't happy about the show. My biggest problem is the writers' intentions. They want to make a fun, breezy show about a family with superpowers, but more often than not, it becomes hammy, saccharine and almost a chore to watch.
