Review - Fringe Season 2 Episode 21 Northwest Passage

Everything about Fringe is like a homage to The X-Files with the FBI, standalones and mytharc episodes, and investigation of the supernatural which occasionally has similar plots. "Northwest Passage" felt like a homage more than most episodes. It had a small town, heavy involevment of local LEOs, running through the woods, and of course the line "I think that you want to believe." And like a few X-Files episodes, there was nothing supernatural committing the murders. It was just another crazy guy and Mathis saves her partner, Bill.

Walter has a great plan for finding Peter by using the glimmer from the items of the alternate universe. When he has Astrid input the numbers, he tells the the wrong ones, deliberately sabotaging himself. His rational is that if Peter doesn't forgive him, there's no reason in finding him. That may change soon, because Olivia enters the lab with knowledge of where Peter is.

Peter also meets the Secretary who is confirmed to be Walternate. Looks like a confrontation will in happening the the two-part season finale starting next week.

Score: 8.7/10
