A lot of the episode was filled with Ted doing his pretentious thing in front of an approving, pretentious crowd. I, for one, like to see Ted go on and on--far more than his childish act last week. If others don't like it when Ted is a snob or didn't like the high dosage, I'm guessing this episode was a downer. The writers put so many eggs in a basket as they often do that personal preferences of the viewers can affect judgment more than any other factor.
As the title "Robots Versus Wrestlers" suggests, there was a real fight between robots and wrestlers and that is juxtaposed with Ted's snobby act. There is, however, a point where Ted is stopped. No matter how much he enjoys the attention of the upper crust, his doppelganger, the wrestler, pulls him back to where he belongs.
Underneath the main plot was a very important discussion between Marshall and Lily about having children. Lily is the more worried of the two, but eventually they come to the agreement to have children once they see doppelganger Barney. As future Ted states, it drastically alters their lifestyle.
Robin comes back at the end of the episode rather abruptly after adamantly telling Lily she wouldn't drink with them. Is it just Robin's loyalty or is there more to the story?
