Grudgingly, I watched the second episode and it was crap. Without most of the episode being action scenes, the show slows to a drag with terrible dialogue and an even worse story.
Now I understand why Tim Goodman was hating on it so much.

Your Spartacus review for Ep 2 couldn't be more slanted by the mob mentality to deride the show. Spartacus cannot be 300 or Gladiator because it is produced for a fraction of their budgets. What it does supply, if you would be thankful enough to realize, is a stylized & epic drama that is now available for those of us who invested in HD TV's - for this very type of program!!
All you nancy armchair critics, really are so blind to the creativity & genius of this show. Thankfully your feeble words will not carry into the arena of champions!
