After the fourteenth season premiere of South Park was Ugly Americans, an adult cartoon that cleverly integrates creatures of all kinds into the urban environment of Manhattan. There's hilarious yet relevant lines ""Airboarding is illegal," and off the wall craziness--Mark getting swallowed and regurgitated. The awkward starts and stops don't always work, but for the most part, the show moves quickly from one funny situation to another.
The pilot involves the anti-immigration guys rounding up 20 illegals to meet their quota while the main character, Mark, goes around helping people. Mark deals with his demon boss after having sex with her. The plot is clearly not the most important aspect of the world. What makes the show work is the wild creativity of David M. Stern and Devin Clark who have many different creatures that are incredibly fun to look at.
