Review - Criminal Minds Season 5 Episode 17 A Solitary Man

Oddly, I felt a tiny bit sympathetic to the unsub after the episode ended. Granted, he killed multiple innocent women, but the episode was balanced with him telling his daughter about the king finding his queen. His daughter lapped up the story. She seemed completely oblivious to everything, focusing on the story and ignoring the FBI and guns. It was almost like her father indoctrinated her into thinking the same way he did with an allegory. We learn that his wife died and his daughter was going to be taken away from him which is why he cracked.

Criminal Minds is unbelievably creepy when it's not cheesy, and unsub was really scary because he was completely crazy. The episode this week was much more even than the episode last week with actual profiling, and we got a humorous scene between Reid and Rossi.

Score: 8.8/10
