My expectations coming into the show were too high, because I wasn't completely blown away as I had expected. There was still lots to like, and I'm still looking forward to the episode next week.
Justified stars Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens, a lawman who isn't afraid to shoot. His fast trigger finger gets him transferred back to his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. Things aren't so great back home. There's Nazis with bazookas blowing things up, and a sense of pervasive lawlessness.
Based almost entirely on the Elmore Leonard book of the same name, "Fire in the Hole" followed Givens reacclimating to his hometown and dealing with the criminals. With ease, Raylan confronts the criminals and severely injures his old mining buddy Boyd who had become an out of control racist.
We meet Givens's new co-workers, a gun-happy girl that's really into him, and his now married ex-wife who tells him he's an angry person. Givens doesn't think he's angry, but considering the way he acts towards criminals, there's something deeply wrong with him. Part of that may be because of his father who is a criminal himself.
