Arthur Frobisher is back? I can understand why he was in Season 2; he resolved Ellen's lingering issues. What doesn't make sense is why he returns again. Ted Danson was brilliant in Season 1, and the writing was near perfect. Unquestionably, Frobisher is one of the best characters of the show. But his arc is over. He's been shamed and beaten. Among the Tobin's, he doesn't quite belong.
Frobisher returns with a path to redemption. Wind power, he says, is a way to help everyone. Of course, like T. Boone Pickens and Al Gore, he'll probably stand to earn millions. At face value, Frobisher appears to have been reformed, but it's likely he's running some kind of game. Who knows why the writers had to bring him back?
There wasn't much movement on the main plot front other than a few new revelations that didn't go anywhere. We learned how everything got into the dumpster in the 3 months forward and in the past. Joe was the one who gave the idea to Carol. Ellen and Tom will plan to start their own law firm. With these new plotlines, there will be some good stories coming up.
Patty found out inadvertently from Ellen that Michael and Jill have a baby coming along the way. Lots of people hate on Rose Byrne, but the way the realization dawned on her was great. We learn that Jill previously had a child and was deemed an unfit mother. Patty isn't completely uncaring and offers Jill hundreds of thousands to go away. Jill doesn't take the offer. So is she crazy or something?
