The cast of Hawaii Five-O consists of Alex O'Loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Jean Smart, and Scott Caan. James Marsters is slated to guest star in the pilot. Clearly, CBS is throwing in the big bucks to make the show work.
A remake of a crime procedural on a crime procedural-heavy network sounds boring, but the prospects are good for the show. With a plethora of lead-ins, Hawaii Five-O could take any number of slots following an audience that already likes the genre.
We don't yet how good the writing will be, but Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are producing the show, so they have the credentials to back up the show. There's so much going for the show I can't imagine the show not becoming successful.
