For the first time, Hawaii Five-0 deviated from the formula, with McGarret on a ship with a suspected killer who was also a Navy SEAL. The majority of the episode is McGarret by himself or with other people while the rest of the team investigates. Alex O'Loughlin does a good job being intense, but as far as the emotion, he's still pretty lifeless.
However, the episode goes exactly as one would expect. The SEAL is not the killer and no good guy gets killed. Also, we're introduced to Laura Hills (Kelly Hu), the governor's employee who isn't afraid to take decisive action, which should relate to an episode in the future.
