Review - Sanctuary Season 2 Episode 6 Fragments

Henry had a well-deserved episode focusing on him which expanded his character and allowed Ryan Robbins to actually do something this week. He had some great scenes with Rachel and the abnormal. I loved how they communicated with sign language which brought another level to the show.

The story was weak with the jealous husband who inadvertently almost kills his wife. I did like the casting of Colin Cunningham as the husband since it allowed a mini-renuion of Major Davis and Captain/Major/Colonel Carter from Stargate SG-1.

Sometimes I wonder what the producers of Sanctuary are thinking. After season 1, they "discovered" the use of the split screen and now use it way too often and for no good reason. Unlike 24 which shows multiple people, the split screen in Sanctuary is used to show multiple shots of the same person. There were several forensics montages in the episode designed to seem the like the ones on CSI. Why?

I still don't understand why Ashley was replaced by Kate. Nothing has changed at the Sanctuary except we have Kate instead of Ashley which is not a fair trade. I have a feeling the writers don't have a plan. They got rid of Ashley, the Cabal, and now they have no enemy or discernible arc.

Score: 8.9/10
