There comes a point when being too good is simply too unbelievable. In the case of the venerable Alicia Florrick, I think that point has been reached. Every week she is faced with an ethical dilemma bound to twist heads, but in the end she pulls out a victory morally or legally. Her underdog client gets some redemption and she is left satisfied with the result.
While the moral ambiguity is part of what makes The Good Wife such a great show, I'd like to see the writers switch things up. Maybe put Alicia in a position she can't get out of, and force her to make a decision she'll think about all the time.
The story was rather weird with the wild looking Ryan tearing it up in the courtroom and then coming on to Alicia. Near the end of the trial, Kalinda reveals the stunner -- Ryan never passed the bar. Alicia lets the trial finish and then berates him. It felt a little underwhelming and I thought more could have been done with the orthodox Jews.
The sidestory involving Alicia's son and the sex line was amazingly ridiculous. He takes a picture with his dad and another woman, finds the woman on a random sex line website, steals his grandmothers credit card, calls her up, and then proceeds to ask her questions. Then his grandmother catches him, tells Alicia who confronts him, and he lies to her. Yeah, whatever...
