There were a few things that bothered me about the episode that were minor enough to not detract too much from an overall excellent episode. The Chinese gangsters were exceedingly stupid. They weren't able to recongize that Michael had a ridiculous accent and then they went along with Michael's plan without Michael creating an elaborate scheme.
Other than that, "Fast Friends" was fast paced, fun, and had an uneasy undercurrent stemming from Michael's deceit. Scott Porter (Coby Bell), who has burned at the end of last week's episode, has information Vaughn needs, so Michael sets off to find him. But Porter finds him first for help to get Khan off his back. Khan thinks Porter stole millions of dollar and has vowed to kill him. Michael tries to pin gun charges on Khan first, but when Khan gets help from the DEA, he uses internal dissent to have Khan's second in command, Lee, look like he stole the money.
At the end of the episode, Porter stays in Madeline's house which means Michael will have ample opportunity to pump him for information--or reveal that he was the one who got him burned. Compared to the police story at the beginning of last season, this one does seem to have a better direction. It's directly related to the spy world and has Michael constantly battling his own morality rather than battling a detective who is more like a nuisance.
Speaking of Khan, does anyone else think The Wrath of Khan is overrated?
