There is plenty to dislike about "Soul of Fire"--the hilariously bad scene where Bill and Eric offer to sacrifice themselves to save Sookie, the usual random subplots--but the increased focus on the vampires and witches is far better than the alternatives, making the episode somewhat stronger than the previous offerings. The vampires are always funny when they are together and Jesus was awesome, pulling Antonia out of Marnie. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, Marnie taking over Lafayette's body, so that should be good, though it's a tad lame that the same thing happened to Lafayette only three episodes ago. But still, more Nelsan Ellis is always good.
I'm glad the stuff with Marcus and Debbie is over. Marcus turned out to be a wacky guy who actually sucked at fighting, and Debbie turned out to be... Debbie. Hopefully this is the last time we see either of them. Andy and the faerie didn't seem to be a logical follow-up to the V plot, but we barely got to learn anything so I'll withhold judgment.
