Because I watched Parks and Recreation before Modern Family this week, it was still fresh in my mind when "Bixby's Back" turned in the direction of bring back Clive and Julianna, Phil and Claire's alter-egos, respectively. Parks brought back a character as well, Ron's crazy ex-wife, Tammy. The big difference, however, is that Parks meets, and even tops, the first outing while Modern Family sticks with the usual misunderstanding, leading to Clive being in the wrong room and almost arrested.
Mitch and Cam, as has been the case lately, have yet another dull, unimaginative plot with Mitchell's assistant seeming to have a crush on Mitch. In reality, he has a crush on Cam, another misunderstanding which resolves itself.
Thankfully, Gloria saves the day, avoiding another misunderstanding. Instead, she plays the ultimate prank on Jay, by screwing with his Valentine's Day plans and then pretending to be mad before the final reveal. Well played, Gloria.
