These past few weeks, I've been noting how little Van Pelt has had to do. But, if you ascribe this kind of thinking, "Red Gold" balances out perfectly with her lack of previous appearances. It was nice to see her get an episode for once while Jane mostly plays a background role (although he does solve the crime).
On the other hand, this thing with Grace and her now-fiance is as bland as can be. I'm not necessarily opposed to the plot, but it's just boring. Rigsby is jealous and that's about it.
