"Three Boys" doesn't have a stable core, with the main plot involving Kevin and Veronica's wedding (or fake wedding), while there's several other subplots going on. Ian finds himself growing apprehensive of his relationship with Kash--as he should be--Fiona grapples with her attraction to Steve, and there's random stuff with Frank and Stella and Lip and Karen. All together, the episode has a hard time balancing these elements, but it works for the most part because it moves so fast, going from one place to another without stopping.
Regarding Steve, I like the slightly darker tone surround kind, and the darker settings, punctuated by the incredible cinematography and usage of street lights.
