In an earlier review today, I was talking about how The Good Wife is able to blend serialized stories and standalone stories much like cable shows. Not only that, The Good Wife has a fantastic cast and a wide array of characters, each with diverging motivations. Of other shows on network television, Blue Bloods definitely has the potential to climb into that upper echelon, but has thus far underperformed badly, exchanging a promising premise for the usual "we're always right" procedural spin.
There's not much to say about Blue Bloods anymore. "Hall of Mirrors" follows the rigid format it's always done with a crime, dinner table discussion about how the police only care about certain people, and tiny, almost irrelevant development in the Blue Templar plot. There's lots of wildly patriotic good vs. evil statements which underscores how single-minded the show is, and the various kinks in the episode--Danny not telling Jackie of the truth intent of the investigation, the girl Jamie helps--don't go anywhere in the end.
