Review - Dexter Season 5 Episode 2 Hello, Bandit

With Dexter, you can't expect too much. Last week's season premiere really pushed the limit of how close Dexter could get to the edge, and "Hello, Bandit" does not capitalize of those moments, instead holding back and staying in a comfortable zone.

This week, Dexter tracks a killer, which creates the only exciting moment of the episode, and has to let go of Astor and Cody, which rings some kind of feeling out of him. He doesn't want to let go of them, but if Astor refuses to stay, there's not much he can do.

It looks like Quinn is Doakes 2.0. He's already not a fan of Dexter and those sketches of Kyle Butler are awfully familiar. Ah, well it would be Dexter to reuse a plot. Also stupid, Quinn getting Deb to admit they had sex. And speaking of Deb, she's now after

Angel and LaGuerta were back to their usual thing, arguing and being boring. This time, it's over LaGuerta's hefty retirement fund. And Angel punches some guy out at the bar. I wish all they would do is not talk to each other and just work, leaving Dexter to be the only important part of the episode.
