Review - The Office Season 5 Episode 23 The Cover-Up

The writers often don't keep the consistency of the show in terms of realism and "The Cover-Up" was one of those episodes that went a little too far. Instead of finding a happy medium, the writers too far, ignoring the key tenant of the documentary. As funny as the actors and dialogue can be, the documentary style pulls the show back into realism until it is completely ignored. While playing his games, Daryl even turns to talk to the camera.

I don't care about Michael's relationships anymore, but I loved seeing Dwight do his creepy investigating. Pulling tractors? Totally hilarious. Pam meddling? Annoying and not funny. The episode ends with the revelation that Donna is married--and that makes Michael the mistress.

Daryl starts of trying to get Andy in big trouble and is well on his way, dropping hints here and there as Andy slavishly laps them up, but once Andy starts shooting his video, the printer starts smoking. Maybe there's something dark behind the clean look of Sabre. Future arc? I sure hope so.

Score: 8.9/10
