Review - The Good Wife Season 1 Episode 20 Mock

In an episode titled "Mock," there were lots of things that seemed real. Everything related to the law had a definitive answer, but the numerous relationship problems is another issue. Many decisions were made, but how many real were they?

After Alicia sees Peter outside, she shows genuine concern and following a sitdown with her kids, decides to try and make things work with Peter. Wasn't she just about to go on a date with Will? At the same time, Will calls Sadie, telling her there is no emergency and that they can have dinner together. Kozko appeals to Alicia one last time, but after helping everyone, Alicia decides to ignore him. Later Kozko, supposedly jumped from a bridge to kill himself. Real, mock, perhaps a ruse to gain leverage?

The case had more deception, involving a woman, Simran, who had been in the country for 20 years without citizenship. However fake Simran's legal citizenship was, at least she acted better than her daughter, a legal citizen, who was involved in a identity theft ring. There's a typical happy ending with Simran staying after her daughter helps the feds.

I hated, and for more emphasis, HATED the law student, Giada Cabrini. All I wanted to do was rip her guts every time she spoke. In one breath, she was condescending, arrogant, annoying, and stupid. I never want to see her again, not on The Good Wife, not on any show--unless she's murdered. Will should have been the focus of the mock trials and not a dumb law student posturing to the air.

If there is a standout actor on the show other than Julianna Margulies, I would have to choose Archie Panjabi. She can be mysterious, earnest, and funny all at the same time. I loved Kalinda's interaction with Cary and there has to be more of that.

Score: 8.9/10
