Review - Scrubs Season 9 Episode 9 Our Stuff Gets Real

There isn't a great chance Scrubs will come back for another season, but I'm starting to like. The dynamic between the med students is developing into something recognizable, and the old characters stealing the spotlight from them

J.D. and Elliot were together and didn't overshadow the new characters. When he's not teaching, J.D. is a pleasant character who isn't intrusive or too annoying. The episode focused on relationships between the couples, and while J.D. and Elliot talked to a couple of other people, there was a clear focus on the relationship between them without distractions. Now that Elliot's pregnant, they aren't intimate anymore, and by the end of the episode, they have a babymoon inside the hospital.

At the same time, Jordan wants Dr. Cox to sign a will, but after seeing an old man's wife die, he contemplates his own mortality which scares him. He has a talk with Jordan which really was classic Scrubs stuff that made the show so good.

Lucy as the main character isn't as polarizing as J.D. was, but I think she's adequately funny. She does seem a tad soft in a bad way which is who her character is. She is weak and impulsive, and I don't think character growth can help that since I can't imagine Kerry Bishé being different. Operating on a dead body she once knew throws her off the game, and Turk helps her learns to get over her feelings since she'll know everyone she operates on once she becomes a doctor.

I didn't laugh as much in this episode, but the story was by far the strongest of the season which compensated. There's only four episodes left, so there won't be much left, but I'll stick around until the end. *shrugs*

Score: 9.0/10
